After ASA’26 Wind Grove Pavilion’s Journey Continues As ASA Architect Expo 2026 draws to a close, the Wind Grove Pavilion supported with quality steel products from TMT continues its journey toward a space of prayer and healing that will serve society for years to come. Wind Grove emerges from a strategic collaboration between TMT Steel and the visionary architects Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee of HAS Design and Research, embodying the Federation of Thai Industries’ Building Materials Cluster commitment to ‘Modularize Towards Sustainability.’ A Space for Practice and Healing Wind Grove represents a meditation and retreat sanctuary for monks at Arogadhamma Center, realized through the architectural vision of Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee of HAS Design and Research. Grounded in a singular inquiry—how architecture restores body and mind while fostering peace through nature—the design achieves an integrated landscape presence. The triangular form and recycled-material roof reinterpret vernacular traditions through contemporary practice, weaving local materials, skilled craftsmanship, and ancestral knowledge into a cohesive whole. The project was also developed as an exhibit for the “SATI : WISDOM : PROMPT” main theme at ASA Architect Expo 2026, which embraced modular, zero-waste design principles. Every component the steel structure, timber panels, thatched roofing, and aluminum parts was built to standard module sizes ranging from 600 mm to 1,200 mm, allowing for easy transport, assembly, precise cutting, disassembly, and reconstruction by local craftsmen. The entire structure can be transported, assembled, dismantled, and rebuilt with efficiency. From Temporary Exhibit to Permanent Space Upon conclusion of ASA Architect Expo 2026, Wind Grove was formally donated to Arogadhamma Center in Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima—establishing permanent use as a monastic meditation and retreat space. This trajectory—from temporary installation to enduring sanctuary—exemplifies architecture animated by genuine purpose. ASA 100 Sustainable Award The work of Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee was honored with the ASA 100 Sustainable Award, recognizing that architecture’s highest calling is not aesthetic refinement but the cultivation of sustainable futures. Wind Grove establishes an alternative: design infused with intention, structures built to last and serve, materials honored rather than wasted.
